installed it a couple of days ago, have not used while fishing yet.
Seems like it may be useful.
I have found that the text is very small and the app wont let me zoom in so it is hard to read even with my glasses on.
Also the map section when trying to open causes the app to stop working, and shuts it down.
I am running it on an htc one xl with the latest android.

Cheers

Thanks and  welcome1 to the site.

I have used it a few times on my iPhone and found that it is a little sketchy at times too. It is a great idea and as long as it is maintained and updated by DPIPWE it should be handy while out fishing as a quick reference.

I was wondering if I was the only one that was finding the odd issues with it, but seems I am not.

Cheers

Thanks Chris,

Looks like some great info on the site should be usefull.

I sent an email off to 'fishingapp.feedback@dpipwe.tas.gov.au' explaining some of the issues yesterday, so it will be interesting to see if I get feed back from them.

I was wondering to if it was only me with the issues or if others were having problems too, looks like I am not alone.

It should be a great app when the bugs are ironed out.

Cheers
Mike

Hi all,

I have had several lots of communication with DPIPWE about this app, they have been extremely cooperative and offered assistance.

There has recently been an updated version of the app released which will rectify a lot of the problems.

To get maps operating for the first time on my phone (HTC one XL) I had to make sure GPS and Data was turned on and I had a GPS fix before opening maps. Once I had done this for the initial time I have been able to access maps with data and gps turned off.

While I have not used the app much the few times I have it has been quite useful, although one still can't zoom on text so it is still hard to read.

Cheers
Mike
