Kids Dam this coming Saturday 25th October

The dam has been recently stocked with some of the fish being around the 6kg mark which should bring some big smiles if landed.
Fishing time 8:30am until 12:30pm
Followed by BBQ and prize presentation 1pm

Prizes for the following
Heaviest Girls
Heaviest Boys
Heaviest Ladies
4 Mystery weights for Juniors
2 Attendance Prizes (All Present)

$50 if a tagged fish or Brook Trout is Caught (Junior Only)

Saturdays outing at the kids dam could not have been much better. Beautiful weather greeted the more than 40 members in attendance and the fishing was exceptional. Mpre than 75 fish were landed for the day with black & gold lures, worms and chunky cheese power bait accounting for a large percentage of the catch. All of the kids were on their best behaviour and it was great to see Luke Spencer receiving some flyfishing lessons from his nan Jan.
The fish ranged from 260 grams to 4.13kg. Lauren Davis packed her A game and had 6 fish by 9:15 after an 8:30 start. She had her bag of 12 by 10:45 when she stopped fishing and gave her spot to Craig Watters who had his wife and niece & nephew with him. They managed to land another 4 or 5 fish from that spot.
Once again John Dekkers took charge of cooking the BBQ lunch and was appreciated by all.
