My 5.5m savage
« on: June 08, 2013, 06:24:27 pm »
Here is the old girl, late last year I decided it was about time to take the next step and get my own boat. In early January this year I came across this custom hardtop savage and I couldn't go past it! Ive mainly used it for offshore work and it hasn't missed a beat so far, occasionally I'll use it inshore and target the squid and bottom fish as well. My only regret is that I should have bought a boat years ago!

cheers  fish1

Thanks for the feedback guys, yeah the guys that had it before me built it themselves. It's definitely a credit to them.

Hey nick, fuel economy isn't too bad, a good day trolling for 8 hrs straight uses around 65L, a 10 hr day is usually around 80L. They are quite a heavy motor for their size, it sits quite low in the back when I'm in the water but its ok as long as I'm not backing down hard in crap conditions.
Cheers for the comment josh!

Hey Jonah, nice rig mate have seen it at Tasman before, didn't know it was yours. The hull looks to be a savage Atlantic. I grew up fishing on a pacific my dad bought one mid to late 90's fished it til about 2003. The pacific was 5m and Atlantic 5.5. Great boats and punch well above their weight. Spent nearly every weekend on it for about 6 years, was imaculate when we got it trashed it in 6 years lol put 2000 hours roughly on the yammy in 4 years, blew the 2 stroke up in the first two!  used put it on the trailer when I was 8-9 years old as it was usually just dad and I. Anyway nice job mate you've picked up a great boat. Cheers
