Bluefin Tomcat 4.75
« on: May 19, 2012, 07:26:09 pm »
Here is my new toy. Its a 4.75 Bluefin Tomcat. It has a 90 HP Mercury optimax and really gets along. has all the usual trout and bream accesories like Minn Kota GPS 2 x sounders and live well. Am absolutely wrapped with this boat. Can't wait to hit the water and christen it now. This is the sort of boat I have wanted for a long time.
Regards,
Tony

Thanks Flash. I wanted to get away from the canopy and more into the cast and retrieve side of things. Hence the casting decks and minn kota. It will be somewhat colder though. The motor will see me get there in no time, but will take some getting used to after the 25HP I used to have. Good package for what I do and am really happy with the whole setup. The advantage is I don't have to do anything to it either. Well Maybe I will ,  but everything has already been done which saves me dollars too.
Regards,
Tony

Spose now you will stop buying those expensive junky type lures and get real with JDs range .

I have some of JD's lures already Flash. I had a big trout on at Gordon earlier in the year on the little redfin coloured diver. Probably about a 50mm size one I would say. Nothing wrong with those lures at all. Some of the soft plastics go alright too just quietly.

Nice looking rig Tony and glad you have been able to find one that suits your needs so perfectly cool1

With that 90 she'll fly and certainly get you there quick. Did you research outboard types much and then go with the Mercury or was it part of the package think1

Yep 88K's on the test ride indeed. It was very impressive. The motor was already on it, but everything has already been done for me so all I had to do was hand over the cash! I notice a lot of the boats run the optimax so they obviously have something going for them. I still have to look twice when I look at it parked in the driveway. Keep thinking what's that doing there!

Took the boat out for it's maiden voyage yesterday. I couldn't be happier. It is everything I could ever want in a boat. Even managed to land some Bream too so apparently they do exist after all. Ended up with seven for the day. Fished the derwent using hardbodies. Tried a few different spots from Cadburys downriver. The idea was just to get used to everything with the boat, but you can't go out without having a fish. Biggest was 39 CM so all in all it was a great day.
Regards,
Tony
