The Trout Stalker diaries...
« on: January 05, 2021, 02:37:16 pm »
When we moved to Tasmania back in March 2000 and I got into my trout fishing here I started off keeping my trip reports in a small yellow booklet, the following year I bought a proper diary to keep my reports & records in. Every time I got home from a spin session as I do even today I sat down and wrote my report & what I caught. At first the reports were small hand hand written, then once I got to know the areas and rivers better the longer the reports became the diaries got bigger. Then I bought a second hand computer (2012) and self taught myself how to use it and do my trout reports. Today with a newer computer I'm much better using  it, even though I'm slow I still get the reports & photos done. Now I print them out each time a report is finished and put them in a dairy I also do a monthly Trout Stalker Report as well, I've gone one better by having a YouTube site for a couple of years. I've enjoyed doing the trout reports & videos, they're always good to look back on.. Anyway here's a few photos of the diaries etc..
If you wish to checkout some of my (144)  trout articles/reports, photos & videos go to www.tackletactics.com.au
then go to tips & techniques on the home page, there you will find Adrian Webb's Trout Tips..
 cheers

Really interesting thanks Adrian. What's your most memorable catch? And of course your biggest Tassie trout?

Thanks Cal, my most memorable was still catching my first ever brown trout in the Finniss River, Sth Australia for the very first time & on my first ever trout fishing trip. That was what got me started on trout fishing rivers for trout.. My best fish was caught on the last day of the 2017-18 trout season, a beautiful wild brown that went 8 lb 8 ozs,  caught it in the River Leven at Gunns Plains..
