Woods. Opening weekend
« on: September 08, 2020, 07:34:41 pm »
Really slow opening weekend for 5 of us at woods. 3 fish boated after a long time on the troll.  Must say slow fishing equals more time by the fire.   Inland fisheries were about on Sunday and we must commend their professionalism and attitude to the fishing community.    Hopefully might be able to send a report from Leake this coming Sunday. Cheers all  🍻🎣

Thanks for the report, Zimmer.  Slow fishing indeed, but at least you found a couple.

I tried Sorell on Wednesday this week, in what should have been ideal conditions except the lake looked like milk coffee, and the water temp was still barely 5.5 deg. Spent 2-3 hours slow trolling and another 2 hrs drift spinning all down along the Dago Point shore and around the next bay, and found nothing.  Might do better when the water warms a bit.

Bloke I spoke to on arrival said he had spent all day Tuesday at it for the same result, and was about to pull camp and head up to Lake Leake - had also heard it was doing OK, as Dan indicated here.
