A Late fishing report, but better late than never.

Last Saturday, sick of work I went to Meadowbank Lake to throw a line in.
Never been and will go again
Best weather we've had in weeks and it was a picture perfect day on the water.
With all of my (very limited) experience I trolled and cast into every fish loving spot to no avail.
I met up a 2 other boats at the boat ramp with only 1 fish caught between them.
That made feel better.

I've only been freshwater fishing from late in last season.
It's a lot different from salt water fishing but I'm getting to some places in Tassie that I've never been.

Unfortunately it appears I'm not very good  notworking1(Not quite as easy as flatty fishing!!) but getting away from it is 3/4 of the experience.

I have a a small kayak (Tarpon 100) which is a cheap and lightweight entrance to kayak fishing. yak1

Hopefully once the weather warms up I can throw a few fish on the smoker! allhail1

Cheers Chris

Great report, Chris - thanks!

It certainly isn't much like flathead fishing: but, as you say, it gets you into some beaut places.  Fish are a bonus.  Don't be worried if you they're a bit thin on the ground at the moment: I've been hassling the trout pretty intensively for more than 45 years, but my three trips out so far this season have all been donuts!
