Lucky enough to Head off Friday for a three nighter at woods. Always like to pencil in opening weekend as a right of passage every year. After checking wind direction and strength for a few days decided on the shore opposite boat ramp just past the old shack. Glad we did cause it was perfect even though two dingys struggled with all the crap old blokes need. Didn't get a worm out at midnight due to too warm in the swag but managed it a bit later than normal with a 2 boat launch at 7.30. Conditions were perfect. Managed 7 between us trolling rapala brown trouts 7cm and 9cm and a pink bomber Tassie devil. Time for brekkie.
Next session managed a few more but a lot more distance needed to be covered to find fish. We found ourselves changing lures a bit more but for no more success. Late arvo bought a better result with a few more landed.
Sunday was a bit quieter with only 5 between two boats and Monday pack up and early fish only landed 3.
It was a great start to the season with 17 caught and a great time away.
The standout lure was by far the brown trout rapala 7cm and 9cm.
