Hi everyone, the weather was looking good for the weekend so we decided to go to the lakes, My son and I headed to Arthurs for a look Saturday morning. We fished with soft plastics and wobblers around the Jonah bay area for a few hours without any luck, went back to shack about noon and went for a walk to check out the damage from the recent bush fires. i hit Swan Bay for the evening session about 4pm. With quite a few gum beetles about and a gentle breeze, my weapon of choice for the evening had to be the fly rod. Loaded with a Great Lake beetle pattern, i had 2 in the boat by 6:30 and had missed another. Fish were full of gum beetles and even a couple of jassids. Both fish were around the 2-3 pound mark in good condition.
