Off shore EHN
« on: February 03, 2019, 04:42:38 pm »
We decided to take the new rig offshore fro EHN today. The destination was 30km east. The conditions were a tad sloppy to say the least but the outcome after 3 short drifts was two blue eye.  Not massive but we managed to find a 600 metre hole.
The bugger is, this was our first trip with electric reels and on  the second retrieve we lost 4 hooks due to my stupidity 😩.

A long story short my daughter chucked her gutz up for an hour and we decided to pull the pin more than happy.

The good news is, the cheese and kisses is keen for another trip.

Tight lines to you all.

Cheers
Madman😜

That was a trip with mixed results!  Glad to see someone going fishing, and reporting on it - makes life that much more bearable for those of us who can't at the moment.  Thanks, Madman!

Re the missus:  I recall with great glee a few years ago; we had graduated from a 12ft dinghy to a 14.5 foot runabout, and had some fun in that for a year or three.  Then when we sold a house and bought another, rather more reasonably priced, and had some spare dosh, my dear wife said to me: "If we had a bigger boat, could we go further out and catch bigger fish?"  I of course said "You bet!"  so she said "Well, we better get a bigger boat then."

I didn't need any more prompting than that!

(And we did go further out, and catch bigger fish, and had encounters with albatroses and whales and all the rest - and we're both so glad we did.  Then we got older and less physical, so began the gradual DOWN-size again.  Make the most of it while you have it!)

O Boy, been there, done that from 12ft 6 inch home built ply boat with a 40 Evinrude in the sixties up to a 10 M Seafarer in the nineties and back down via gradually smaller boats to a 4.9M Barcrusher  a couple of years ago.

My better half is not keen on boating and definitely not offshore so even though the Crusher is a smallish boat she insists that I get someone to come out with me. Comes with age I guess. Problem is, whilst I have plenty of time during the week to go fishing it is hard to get someone who is available during the week to join me.

So, as Paul said, enjoy it while you can.

Cheers
