Largest ever fine for poaching giant freshwater crayfish..

 Nice to see a hefty fine was handed out for the following offence... I feel he still got off light for the offences committed..
 should also have been given some time behind bars in my book..

** Paul Charles Bakes was convicted of

 ** six counts of take protected fish;
 ** nine counts of possess freshwater crayfish; and
 ** One count of take trout without a licence.

Have only ever had the privelige to see one of these in real life.
Pretty impressive that's for sure. Shame people can't just leave them alone

I come across a few in my travels to small streams in no mans land and they're quite big too.. I came across this little one as it was sitting in the middle of the road trying to get to a small creek, had a mate over from  Sth Aust so took a pic of him holding it before we placed it in the creek it was heading to.. I'm sure it would have been run over before it reached the creek too as it's a busy road where I spotted it. As it was a quarry truck came past a couple of minutes after I picked it up.. I've also found several pots in some of these small streams to which I took out of the water then destroyed them after taking a photo and sending the details onto the IFS,,
