Hey guys,
Anybody heading to the NSW Mid North Coast (Port Macquarie) over the next few weeks ?
Off the Port Macquarie rocks, drummer numbers are great with solid pigs being caught from most rock ledges along with big schools of Blackfish cruising the white washes. Bream and Tailor numbers have also been good with some solid fish amongst them.
Off the beaches, tailor and salmon up to 5 kilo mark, bream have been in good numbers and a few nice winter whiting still wondering around. For those who enjoy freezing their tackle off, standing on a cold beach until all hours of the night, beaches are producing some nice mulloway (Jewies).
In the estuary, Blackfish are still around in good numbers off the south breakwall and over on the north wall and coal wall Bream numbers and quality too remain excellent particularly well after dark. Last winter run, my young mate (80 Years) across the road and I landed 67 Bream, within 4 hours with no fish under 35cm. We bagged out so quick, it was just catch, release, catch, release. Was a great night.
Offshore, plenty of quality snapper coming from all local reefs. Apart from snapper, the reefs are producing plenty of pearl perch, as well as a few teraglin, mulloway and the odd kingfish to around 10 kilos.
