Deer a problem in Tassie
« on: March 28, 2017, 12:43:50 pm »
Watching the Landline programme yesterday saw a lot of footage of large mobs of Fallow dear jumping over what appeared to be 8 ft high fences. No problem at all to them, not even a running start.

Surprised to see one mob of around 50 Stags with not a hind among them. Is that normal?

You guys have got it all haven't you, trophy fishing, big game fishing, relaxed laws for hunting, plenty of game to hunt, the best boat ramps I have ever seen,(incl Dodges Ferry and the Tuna Club at Eaglehawk). Great produce and restaurants. No wonder no one wants to leave.

Our latest law from the fun police prohibits trailer boats being parked in the street for longer than 28 days after which it will be impounded by Council. So why pay rego?

As you have probably guessed I am suffering from fishing withdrawal symptoms due to a combination of bad weather, big seas, and my fishing mate being tied up selling his house to move onto acreage down the South Coast where the fishing is still great. Sooo, jealous of all you lot down south but with a little bit of luck I might be able to talk the minister for finance to agree to another visit to Tassie. This time to try my hand at trout fishing.

Cheers
