The club will be having it's opening day at Lambert's Dam again this year starting at 9.00am with the weigh in at 2.00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend on the day and you can start earlier if you wish to do so and brave the cold. There will be a prize for the heaviest fish taken on the day up until weigh in.
The Angler's & Pasturalists Social Dinner & Presentation night will also be held during the month of August. This year it is on the 23rd August which is a few weeks later than normal due to the venue being booked out. It is being held at ''The Oz Rock Inn'' on Beach Road, Ulverstone and includes a three course dinner @ $25-00 per head (club subsidized) with choice of punch refreshments included. Wine, beer and spirits are also available to purchase at the licensed bar at quite reasonable prices, be there at 6.00pm for 6.30 start of meal. Smart casual dress is required as well. Any one wanting to attend please contact Gaylene Ray on 6425 3601 or the secretary PO Box 531, Ulverstone 7315 RSVP by 15/8/14 The reason for Pasturalists being included in the name of the dinner is because they are the owners of land that we are lucky to go onto to have access to the Leven River and dams throughout the district, and it just a way of saying ''THANK YOU'' to them for opening up their land for all fishers to enter and enjoy the challenge of catching trout from a river or dam.
