Sold the trusty bell boy on Friday and what else could I do but find a new boat. After a couple of phone calls I headed off to Hobart Saturday morning
Ended up picking up a channel craft 21 foot  has a Volvo turbo diesel freshwater cooled  with 2x 90l as fuel tanks
Cabin heater run via a Gemini heater core  and 2 speed fan a water heater and water tank.
Wanted something a bit more family friendly  with the arrival of our baby girl 4 weeks ago

Its a big boat went for a run on the Derwent on Saturday in a bit of chop and it just eats the wind chop and that was empty so I assume loaded it will only get better

Struth, TF: that's a fair step up from the old Bell Boy!  Congratulations and happy boating!

Hope you enjoy your new boat TF, it looks as though Channel Craft have flop moulded a Caribbean Reefrunner, still a great boat if they did.

The bloke I got it off put it on the weigh bridge  fully loaded with cray gear and camping gear  and I went 2.9
Not hard to load it up 180l fuel 60l of water father in-laws dive compressor. It all adds up

First comp in the new boat and raised a good 2.5m mako had him hooked for about 30 mins  did a couple of good jumps and spat the hook. Pretty dissapointed we raised a decent blue shark that ended up going pretty hard stuck a tag in him and called it a day with no burly bag left thanks to the mako and a broken 24kg rod

Had a few ripper trips in the big girl over summer. Did a 3 day trip down colesbay shouten island with a mate and we had a ball. Ended up with a roughly 130kg mako on the last day. Was good to get one in the boat after only 20 mins of burly

And we did the st helens classic where we  hooked in to a 112kg mako. Has been a really good year  so far a bit hard to get out as much as i would like with a 5 month old baby , but today we are taking the little girl out for her first trip. Cant wait to get back out in the tamar river
