Lucky for you Jehu. Sucks balls for anyone on the east coast.

Couple this with a later season start and earlier finish the recreational fisher has been royally screwed.

Luckily my wife and daughter have decided to get a pot licence each this year so we could be taking 6 instead of 2 per day happydance1

And for anyone that thinks this is the wrong attitude...don't care.

They would of been better off restricting the pros in particular areas.

Cray limit doesn't worry me personally. I'd be happy to catch 2 size per pot. we average over a season 1 per pot.

the Bluefin/Yellowfin boat limit of 4 should NOT apply to charter boats. What a kick in the teeth for them

Totally agree re the SBT limits and charter operators Jack. A recreational fisherman has the choice to fish so can't really bitch and moan about the reduced bag limits but the charter operator who depends on this to feed his family and has hundreds of thousands of dollars tied up in boats and gear has been totally screwed.

In saying this as a reco fisherman, Tommy has a point. If the quotas reduced I'II be getting my daughter and potentially the wife to get a pot licence this year. Can hardly see the point in going for a dive for two...too much effort. Would rather take my chances with three pots soaking.

Makes a mockery of the proposed changes as I could potentially take more fish than I would of ever considered before...clever these decision makers.

What has 4,882km's of coastline? think1

I don't understand why they didn't look in to the tag system more  I will be getting my wife a pot licence this year I guess

With a tag system they would at least know how many fish were taken in a season...not guessing it...I think the rule is aimed more at divers than the people who pot anyway...as mentioned, it is hardly worth while loading all the dive gear in the boat and catching 2 fish..
1 of the kids can get a license this year so we will also run an extra pot, only problem with that is she would rather catch an ocy or a sleepy Jackson than a cray think1
