Time to call it quits
« on: August 30, 2015, 08:06:40 pm »
Regretfully I am no longer making plastics
It's time to call it quits for me
I am only making plastics for myself and a few mates
The cost of selling them on eBay etc has become not worth it
With eBay fees and postage the cost for plastic materials etc
I'll start with saying thanks to Admin for allowing me to adveRtise over the last year
And thanks to members putting up with me trying to flog plastics
Last but not least good luck to members in the afl comp
And next weeks guess the margin
Thanks everyone regards Ray

No ones fault at all
I'll just give you a example
Last week
Sold two items on eBay
2 packs of jigheads
@$5 a pack free postage after in paid the postage $1'40 for each item equals $2.80
Plus envelope the two items I now have sold at $3.50 a pack
After buying plastic ,colours ,glitter probly made myself 3.00
But then comes selling fees ,because I place nine items on there
The cost of placing the items probly some where between $9 and $12 bucks
So it actually cost me over $7 bucks to sell those items
It's just not worth it to me to continue losing money
I'm far better off using them myself and saving money on buying them
When I get to many ill probly do a market. Just to retrieve some money back
Again I'll say thanks to all and as they say (it happens )
Tight lines every one by the way will keep my website going  to just add photos etc of fish caught

At least you had a go at it Ray, sorry to hear the news mate.. Yes Ebay's takes 10% of your sales & also on the postage now. Then you have 3% taken by PayPal, yep it all adds up.
Thank you Ray for putting up the prizes in the footy comp too, it's been very much appreciated by all of us on this site...
Well done to you and good luck for the future Ray.. thumbsup1

No good Ray. sorry to hear. And sorry I could't of helped more myself. I still have a heap you gave me to trial and would of been lucky to get half of them wet, but the ones I did have been great. Its hard i just don't do much soft plastic fishing. In the salt we troll or generally bait fish and I am a dirty baito when it comes to flatties can't help myself. octopus and mullet strips every time, same on the gummies.

thanks for lures you did send mate, had a ball with the big 5" paddle tails on the big sambo's off brown mountain off Port Arthur
